Pavlova: an Iconic Aussie Dessert

 

THERE IS MUCH DEBATE AS TO THE ORIGIN OF PAVLOVA

Was it Australia or New Zealand…?  Wherever our shared melt-in-your-mouth dessert came from, the traditional Pavlova is an icon.  Anyone who is unfamiliar with our Pavlova, confuse this egg white based dessert with a close cousin, meringue.  Pavlova is lighter, with a fluffy, marshmallow-like texture, not hard like a meringue.

Traditional Pavlova is most popular at;

  • Easter
  • Birthday celebrations

It is traditionally served with fresh whipped cream and seasonal fruit.
